Silk Road Pant

The Silk Road Pant began with 8 damaged green hoodies recovered from school lost and found, cut and sewn into more than 80 individual strips all stitched together.

Instead of hiding the construction, each strip is left visible, overlapping and cascading over the next. As the wearer moves, the layers separate and shift, revealing the different shades and textures of the garments they once belonged to.

The name Silk Road comes from its larger set. The meeting of different places, textiles, and traditions. Paired with the Japanese kimono-inspired top accented with Kashmiri embroidery from one of my Nani's old shawls, the pant brings together fabrics and silhouettes that normally wouldn't share the same story.
