Tide Sweater

The sweater began as a forgotten ripped knit and a damaged nike hoodie, both recovered from a school lost and found and reworked into something new. 

The uneven seam across the body is cut to mimic the movement of a rising tide, the blue knit washing over the fabric underneath. Rather than hiding where the one material ends and another begins, the raw, irregular edge becomes the piece. 

The Tide Sweater was designed alongside its counterpart, the Ember Sweater. Where Tide draws from the movement and cool tones of the ocean, Ember uses deep red and rising forms inspired by the flame. Together the two form a his-and-hers pair built around opposing forces, built from different pieces that once shared the same fate: forgotten in a lost and found.
