The embroidery connects the garment to my own heritage. My Nani is from Kashmir, but the kimono-inspired silhouette draws from a completely different tradition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eThat meeting is where the name Silk Road comes from. Historically, the Silk Road connected distant cultures through the movement of textiles, craft, and ideas.
